A recent article in a leading business magazine that caught Pieter Stalenhoef’s eye talked of how the health care sector has returned positive results in 17 out of last 20 years and its robust outlook. He believes that the main reason behind these magnificent results is less competition in comparison to a lot of other sectors, which is likely because of the high barriers to entry. In Pieter’s opinion, biotech has led the health care on the path to continued growth. According to a recent study, as many as 30 biotech companies are expected to have reached or maintained profitability in 2020, with demand being driven by an aging population, obesity, and issues related to diet and lifestyle changes. Pieter identifies biotech solutions for cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and thrombosis as some other areas of growth.
