Will Heikkinen has always demonstrated immense determination and the ability to focus in order to achieve his goals. This proved crucial during his high school football career, during which time he captained the Andover High School team in addition to being named an All-Massachusetts Wide Receiver on two occasions. However, this same determination has also proven important in his scholastic career. He managed to maintain a 3.8 Grade Point Average, despite spending a lot of his time developing his skills as an athlete, volunteering and working part-time jobs. He is now a student at The College of William and Mary, noting that there are a number of skills that good students need to be able to master.

Time management is crucial if you are going to fit your studies around your social life, especially if you are intending to attend college. The time you spend studying on your own will supplement the learning that you do in the classroom, allowing you to work on areas that you are weak in while also reinforcing your knowledge of topics that you understand. If you are able to manager your time effectively, you will find that your studying does not detract much from your social activities.

Will Heikkinen is also a very good listener who understands the importance of staying engaged during his lessons and getting rid of anything that might pull his attention away from his teachers. By listening intently he picks up on bits of information that may allude less attentive students, while also demonstrating to his teachers that he is willing to learn, which makes them better able to teach effectively.

Having played football throughout high school, Will Heikkinen also understands how important it is to be able to work as part of a team. His experience as a football team captain allows him to assume leadership roles in the group projects that he is assigned, which in turn means that the collectives are able to stay focused on their goals. As time progresses, he hopes to build further on these leadership qualities through his work with different teams and study groups.
