“The Eco-Logic Awards” are announced each year to honour individuals, organizations, and communities dedicatedly committed to making a difference from the environmental point of view. Wilcote is recently shortlisted for the honour in the “Climate Change” category of this prestigious award. Wilcote’s philosophy behind manufacturing of building maintenance products is highly eco-friendly. The products are manufactured from the highest grade of environmental-friendly raw-materials, and the entire manufacturing processes are based on minimizing the use of natural resources.
Wilcote strongly believes in a sustainable future, and we ensure that all suppliers meet our eco-friendly values while sourcing products. Some of the recent initiatives by the company include Eco Friendly Paint Products, Infra-Red Roof Cooling, Green Manufacturing Processes, Re-use of Raw Material Containers, and Harvesting of Grey Water.
Established by The Enviropaedia, the Eco-Logic Awards throw light on sustainability, eco-friendly business practices and smart consumerism, in partnership with SABC3. The award ceremony is applauded as South Africa’s most ‘glamorously green’ event, with a glitzy gala dinner. There are 13 award categories including Climate Change, Biodiversity, Eco-Innovation, Energy Efficiency, Recycling and Waste Management, Transport, Water Conservation, Business Green Economy Initiative, Municipalities, Eco-Community, Eco-Youth, Eco-Angel, and Eco-Warrior.
Members of the public nominate their eco-champions each year. This year, Wilcote takes pride in being one among the five finalists in the Climate Change category. The category is sponsored by the Department of Environmental Affairs. The Eco-Awards Gala Evening will take place on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the stylish Table Bay Hotel, V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
