The idea for the clinic originated with his participation in a TV show Diagnosis Detectives in 2020. Patients were successfully diagnosed by participating specialists and treated on this show due to collaboration between disciplines. The outcomes were successful and fast.

Trained in Medicine and Dermatology at The American University of Beirut, Dr Akel was elected to the American Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Medical Society and was awarded the Diana Tamari Sabbagh Advanced Fellowship Award to train in vulval dermatology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.”
Dr Akel offers bespoke dermatology care to patients as part of The West London Clinic and is an affiliate member with professional membership at many valued institutions, including the British Association of Dermatologists, British Medical Association, Lebanese Dermatological Society, Lebanese Order of Physicians and the Royal Society of Medicine.
