Garber Development’s City Place signs Puerto Rican coffee chain

WINTER PARK, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2021) – City Place, a Gaber Development project located at 1100 S. Orlando Avenue, has signed Café Don Juan as its cornerstone tenant, making it the chain’s first U.S. location as it expands to Central Florida and Tampa.

The popular Puerto Rican coffee chain will be occupying an 1,803-square-foot unit that faces Orlando Avenue. Of this space, 500 square feet will be devoted to a vibrant outdoor patio.

The restaurant will serve a large variety of delectable coffee blends from Central and South America, along with a full breakfast and lunch menu and homemade pastries. It’s expected to open by mid-2021.

“City Place is going to be the ideal location for Café Don Juan to launch its U.S. expansion,” said Lamont Garber, owner of Garber Development. “From its street visibility and accessibility to ample outdoor space, City Place will help Café Don Juan become a staple in the local community.”

City Place will be wrapping up construction this month. The 7,000- square-foot property will offer retail space for up to four tenants. Tune Up The Manly Salon, headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, has also signed a lease, making this its first Florida location. The salon offers men and kids haircuts, manicures/pedicures, beard trims and free beer for those 21+.

Two additional spaces are currently available, totaling 3,500 square feet, including one unit with frontage on Orlando Avenue and an outdoor seating area. The entire building features beautiful landscaping, high-end artificial turf and hand-made Brazilian wood benches.

“The redevelopment of Orlando Avenue is well underway and I’m very proud to be leading the charge on revitalizing this beautiful area,” said Garber. “City Place is going to be an excellent addition to this project and we’re already in talks with a number of other unique tenants to bring to the Winter Park/Maitland community.”

City Place is just a stone’s throw away from the State Auto building, another Garber Development project in Winter Park. The State Auto building is made up of recognizable tenants such as Foxtail Coffee, Dolce Vita Salon and Create Your Nature.
