It seems easy, but worth remembering: it is a conference that is the perfect way to get your work approved. Conferences can be wide or small, very specialized or broader and can be focused on one or more topics. What conference is better for you depends on a variety of variables, including your attitude and the research topic. With regard to personal considerations, a smaller conference with 50-100 attendants would enable certain participants to get to know others fairly well. Others may tend to be more busy and exciting in the atmosphere from a huge conference that promises thousands of presentations on a variety of subjects, perhaps some closer to the extreme end of spectrum. When you're doing science, consider how fascinating and knowledgeable your work will be in a variety of areas, so you'd like to participate in a diverse interdisciplinary conference, or maybe it is more niche and fits best at an expert conference.

If it's local or foreign is another reason for selecting your conference. Given that sponsorship is always higher, large international conferences normally have the highest prestige, so it is more respected – certainly something for the resume! Having said this, the acceptance of your job at a smaller national conference will be smoother, because if this is the first experience, you will take a reduced pressure case more comfortably. You can also start smaller and attend larger conferences as your confidence increases! Financing is also critical - how are you going to pay for travel and accommodation? Work out what the university budget is for you, as you can find that you will get funding to attend a cheaper national conference, but not a costly international conference. Often checking outside of the university is also worthwhile, since often an impartial institution still offers funds. This will, of course, need some testing, but it could really be worth it.

Look out for a Call for Abstracts
Keep an eye on the blogs and sign up for E-mails to find out where conferences will be held. A good way to start is to inquire at your own faculty, so your faculty will know annual conventions in the field and will be able to steer you in the right direction. If a lecture is prepared for presentations, a "call for abstracts" shall be issued in which scholars are invited to give a concise review of their presentations.
