Spain, February 25, 2013 -- This comes after a previous order for the pilot training centre in Aberdeen (Scotland), boosting Indra’s position as Eurocopter’s partner.

The EC225 is an 11-ton helicopter integrating all the latest technological innovations, high payload, along range and a fast cruise speed.

Indra has been awarded a contract to supply Eurocopter with two new EC 225 transport helicopter simulators for the aircraft manufacturer’s pilot training centres in Malaysia and Brazil.

These two new orders come after Indra provided the company with another simulator of this kind in 2011, which is now in operation at the Eurocopter pilot training centre in Aberdeen (Scotland).

The databases of the EC225 training systems will incorporate scenarios relating to the coastlines and real airfields in each of the countries, ensuring maximum realism in pilot training. The simulators can also be used to carry out day and night exercises in varying weather conditions, and they also produce the same vibrations as those experienced during a real flight, which is a very important aspect in enabling pilots to familiarise themselves with the way a helicopter responds.

Indra said this contract will boost its relationship as a technological partner of Eurocopter. This delivery to Eurocopter follows previous shipments of EC 135 and EC145 simulators, which are currently operational in Donauworth (Germany), Dallas (United States) and Warsaw (Poland).
