Madrid, Spain, June 12, 2013 - Wan Gang says that China needs foreign firms to help the country overcome its challenges.

The Chinese Minister of Science and Technology, Wan Gang, has called on Spanish firms to work with the country’s government on exchange programmes to encourage mutual scientific and technological development. Speaking at the MBA Alumni Reunion 2013 organised by the IESE in Barcelona, Gang pointed out that China is a growing country that faces many challenges, which is why it needs foreign companies to submit tenders.

Sources at the IESE told Europa Press that Gang underscored the strong points for investors, such as automotive, infrastructure and biomedicine technology.

The Chinese Science Minister also highlighted the rise in production of clean energy. He said that up to 170,000 electric cars will be driving on Chinese roads by the end of 2015, up from the current number of 39,700.

Gang was accompanied by the Spanish chef and founder of the elBullifoundation, Ferran Adrià, and Japanese architect Makoto Tanijiri, among others.

Adrià spoke of the difficulties of staying creative for over 10 years and called for greater organisation to support innovative projects with business possibilities.

Tanijiri, meanwhile, said there was a need to introduce a system to encourage creativity, an attitude that should combine ambition, competitiveness and human values, according to Europa Press.
