Cell Phones are a Greater Health Risk than Tobacco

Cell phone technology has not been around long enough to know its long term effects. But, the data that is starting to come in does NOT look good.

Franklin, TN, March 17, 2015 /PressReleasePing/ - According to the United Nations' communications agency, there are almost as many cell phone subscriptions (6.8 billion) as there are people on this earth (7 billion). And, it only took a little more than 20 years for that to happen. With almost 300 million cell phones in the United States alone, most people assume they must be safe. But are they?

If cell phones are so safe, why does cell phone manufacturers say in their manual to hold the phone at least 1/2 of an inch away from the head when using them? And, why is this information buried in the manual instead of being brought out to the forefront? What about the dangers of cell phone use to children versus the dangers to adults? For your sake, and your children’s sake, watch the videos with Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta.

Here’s the point. Tobacco manufacturers are required to put a label on every pack of cigarettes indicating the dangers, and it is illegal to sell them to children. But cell phones are now a part of just about everyone’s life. And yet, there is no visible warning label required. This technology hasn’t been around long enough to know its long term effects. But the data that is starting to come in does NOT look good.

The danger is non ionizing radiation. It’s like a microwave set at a very low setting. After 30 to 40 years of putting a cell phone right against the ear when using it, could be, in effect, cooking the brain. And, the weaker the cell phone signal, the greater the danger. This is also explained in the videos mentioned above. There some simple steps we can take to minimize exposure.

For one thing, texting may not be so bad after all (unless driving or operating machinery). Also, using the speaker phone or a wired headset with the phone greatly reduces the risk. We have the right to know the potential dangers we are being exposed to, the dangers we are exposing our children to, and what devices and technologies are available to help reduce our risk of exposure.
