Gold prices tumbled on Monday after Swiss voters overwhelmingly rejected proposals to boost gold reserves in a referendum, joining the broad rout in commodities that sent oil prices to five-year lows and copper to four-year lows.

The S&P BSE Sensex also came off from its intraday high, but was still trading in a range, supported by gains in consumer durable, FMCG, banks, pharma and IT stocks.

Commodity Market
Gold prices declined by around 2.83 percent and closed at $1167.04/oz. On the MCX, gold prices declined by2.26 percent and closed at Rs.25794/10gms.

Silver prices in the international markets declined by 5.80 percent and closed at $15.41/oz. On the MCX, silver prices declined by 4.3 percent and closed at Rs.34527/kg.
