Andhra Pradesh is now striving to become one of the best tourist destinations in India and so the tourism board has launched a host of adventure activities and water-sports facilities in Vijayawada. Activities such as parasailing, jeep parasailing, water skiing, para-motoring, speed boating, etc. have recently been introduced at the Bhavani Islands of Vijayawada. Related work is also on the way to make it similar to Bheemili, Mangamaripeta, Rishikonda, Thotlakonda beaches.

With its scenic splendor, Papikondalu, located in Rajahmundry is a well-known destination. Therefore, two houseboats have been launched with facilities of one and three-bedroom. These boats are well-equipped with all the modern amenities to cater the needs of every tourist.

Andhra Pradesh tourism with the launch of ambhibious vehicles in places like Vijayawada and Rajahmundry has added another feather in its cap. These vehicles can be operated on both water and land that will give an unforgettable experience to the visitors.

The Tourism board of Andhra Pradesh will also launch seaplanes and helicopter rides at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Kakinada. Helicopter tours, in Vizag, will be operated from the Kailasagiri Hills, one of the major tourist attractions. Design work is going on in the identified sites in all the destinations for setting up seaplane jetty.

I.F.S., Commissioner (Department of Tourism), Dr. R.P. Khajuria said, "Amphibious vehicles and heli tourism are the two most contemporary forms of tourism attractions. We plan to launch them soon and are really upbeat about it. Overall with the launch of these hosts of water sport and adventure tourism activities, we feel tourism in the state will get a major boost."

The launch of facilities like rock climbing, waterfall rappelling, zorbing and high rope courses, etc. in some popular hill stations of Puligundu, Horsley Hills, and Talakona that will take adventure tourism in Andhra Pradesh to a new height.
