Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan was born on 15 August 1967 at Sri Gurusar Modia village in Ganganagar in the district of Rajasthan. At the early age Baba Ram Rahim joined Dera Sacha Sauda. At that time his father Maghar was a devoted follower of Dera Sacha Sauda. So he made Gurmeet Ram Rahim joined Dera Sacha Sauda at the age of 7 years. He was made the leader on 23 September 1990 of Dera Sacha Sauda after the retirement of successive leader of Dera Sacha Sauda that was Shah Satnam Singh Ji Maharaj. Gurmeet Ram Rahim was from the three people who were selected for the leader. In a surprise public announcement, it was declared that Baba Ram Rahim would be the leader of Dera Sacha Sauda.
The organisation Dera Sacha Sauda runs 3 hospitals and 13 educational institutes for the welfare of society. There are more than 3 dozen of world records on the name of Dera Sacha Sauda. Gurmeet Ram Rahim never celebrates his birthday and receives gifts from his followers; he says that tree plantation is the best gift for me.
