Itching
Pain or Numbness
6 Home Remedies to Get Relief from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
1. Wear wrist splint
Wrist brace can be worn for support and also to relieve the pressure on your median nerve. It helps in keeping your wrist straight. Wearing wrist splint in the evening may help to avoid too much stress on the joint and also provide quick relief. Even, you can wear it during the day, including at work.

A 2012 study found that symptoms get worse during night time. So wearing a wrist brace at night time for a few weeks works well and helps in pain relief as well as it heals your wrist.

2. Stay warm
Heat is necessary to treat CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). It helps to reduce swelling in your hands.

Immerse your hand in the warm water for 5 -10 minutes around 100 F, then do some wrist circle exercises gently.
Do this 3 – 4 times a day.
3. Stretch your hands & wrist

According to the experts, doing wrist stretching exercise helps to relieve any pressure on your median nerve and reduce the symptoms. Such exercise will give you a stronger wrist and helps to prevent injuries and pain.

4. Task breaks from the repetitive task
Your hands & wrists need a regular break. So give rest to your hands and wrist as much as possible. Set a timer for every 15 minutes which will remind you to take a short break. During the break, stretch your hands and move your wrists to improve blood flow to these areas.

Many studies prove that performing a stretch exercise, taking frequent rest breaks and ensuring correct posture and wrist position helps to prevent the occurrence of carpal tunnel syndrome.

5. Put ice pack
Applying ice pack helps to lessen swelling. Some experts say, icing your wrist aids in reducing pain from carpal tunnel syndrome. The research from Pfizer (the manufacturer of thermacare products) proved that Thermacare cold packs are more effective at treating CTS symptoms than a low-level heat wrap.
