Holding a solid background in operational policing as an investigator, supervisor, manager, and executive, Varun Naidu holds a diverse background in Patrol Division, Drug Section, Criminal Investigation Branch, Emergency Response Team, and Community Policing.

Due to hard work and skills, Varun managed to be the part of the Emergency Response Team where he conducted high risk operations that fell outside the skills, knowledge and abilities of the regular members such as warrant service, barricaded persons and hostage rescue. Later on, he was selected as the team leader of the Emergency Response Team where he supervised all tactical operations and coordinated training.

Pertaining to his role as a sergeant in Delta Police Drug Section, Varun Naidu supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations. It included indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. Besides, he provided oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies within the team in order to reduce the impact of drugs in the community through education, enforcement and community partnership.

Regarding the skills Varun Naidu has developed so far, he is highly competent in conflict resolution, change management, leadership, report writing, and team building. He has been a part of Delta Police Management Team. Apart from overseeing sworn officers, support staff and volunteers, he managed to operate an annual budget of 34 million dollars. Being the member of the management team, Varun worked collaboratively with Delta Police Association and the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Varun Naidu has been the inspector of in charge of Operational Support Branch where he managed Traffic Section, Vulnerable Sector, Community Policing, Victim Services, Community Relations, and School Liaison Units.

Pertaining to his education credentials, Varun graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Pertaining to the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the Police Academy.

About Varun Naidu

As the watch commander in Delta Police Department, Varun Naidu supervised the patrol shift where he was responsible for a team of seventeen constables and two sergeants conducting patrol and uniform functions. Be it the investigative or administrative matter, he provided the field support and guidance, along with drafting and delivering performance evaluations.
