International Flora Expo, the most important event of the Floriculture industry in India to be held from 26-28 February 2016 has started at Hindustan Antibiotic Exhibition Ground in Pimpari-Chichawad.

 
The most important event of the Floriculture industry in India is all set to add more colour to the blooming international floriculture trade. 11th International Flora Expo has started at Hindustan Antibiotic Exhibition Ground in Pimpari - Chichwad from 26-28 February 2016. Mr. Vikas Deshmukh, Commissioner, Agriculture Dept. Government of Maharashtra inaugurated the expo. On this occasion the dignitaries present were, the Chief Coordinator of International Flora Expo, Mr. S. Jafar Naqvi, and Mr. M. B. Naqvi. The expo will be open from 10am to 6pm.
Last year, this event completed a decade of substantial contribution to the floriculture industry. It was extremely successful and received words of praise from one and all. 11th International Flora Expo has 3 more concurrent events that complement each other and contribute to holistic development of this sector, namely 10th International Landscape and Gardening Expo 2016, 8th International Horti Expo 2016 and 2nd Agrex India 2016. Through years of success and growing participation, the series of events have become India’s largest exhibition on floriculture, horticulture, garden equipment and machinery and allied sectors.
On this occasion, Mr. Vikas Deshmukh, Commissioner, Agriculture Dept. Government of Maharashtra said, “Such exhibitions are very important as through this type of an exhibition farmers come to know about new innovative technologies related with floriculture, horticulture etc. Innovative methods for farming will help farmers in Maharashtra especially in drought prone regions. Maharashtra government is supporting controlled agriculture which is helping the farmers.”
The Chief Coordinator of International Flora Expo, Mr. S. Jafar Naqvi said, “Flowers are unique things. A person can say no to chocolates but definitely not to flowers. They bring smile to every face and are meant for every occasion.”
Naqvi further added that, “Flower consumption in India is growing at a whopping speed of 30% per annum. Through ‘International Flora Expo’ and its concurrent events we aim to further strengthen the Indian floriculture market and increase the per capita consumption of flowers in India. Through the years we have brought together all the major stakeholders of the industry and its allied sectors. We are sure that the Event series will continuously increase its contribution to the floriculture industry.”
