Coimbatore known as the Manchester of Tamilnadu is the second-highest populated city in Tamilnadu next to Chennai. The cultural heritage of Coimbatore is highly distinct, diverse and cosmopolitan from any other cities in Tamilnadu. The people here have settled from various parts of the nation making it an example for national integrity. The city has always been an industrial, commercial, IT and software hub of Tamilnadu. Coimbatore is quite famous for its entrepreneurship and the encouragement the people living here give for developing entrepreneurship. Although the Tamil speaking community is predominantly found here, its highly difficult to ignore the presence of Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam speaking people here. It would be harsh to not appreciate the flawless hospitality of Coimbatore people.

The city has adapted to the changes of the society very well and the people here are well connected to the customs and traditions followed here, meanwhile the people have also been welcoming the modernization of the society and urban life.

As far as the cuisine is concerned kongu cuisine is pretty famous in Coimbatore and as the city has people settled from various parts of India it hosts quite a vast number of Kerala, Chinese, continental and north Indian restaurants as well. One will not feel the non-availability of a variety of foods in Coimbatore. The sweet Mysore Pak is a famous delicacy in Coimbatore. Apart from that idly, vada, dosas with rice sambar, rasam kootu are few other delicacies one should try in Coimbatore. Siruvani water which is the primary source of drinking water in Coimbatore is yet another must to mention as its ranked second world's sweetest water. Needless to say, Coimbatore is surrounded by the Western Ghats making the climate very pleasant all through the year. Coimbatore is also blessed with ample rainfall every year that makes agriculture flourish around the city. The city’s public transportation system is well organized and connectivity to places is hassle-free by both road and rail transports. There are ample sightseeing locations including rivers and hills with resorts which lets Coimbatore enjoy a lot of opportunities from tourism. It also hosts a variety of malls enabling world-class shopping experience too. To sum it all up the facilities available and the people of Coimbatore make it real heaven of place to live and visit.
