Israel’s establishment as a State prompted a wave of immigration, bringing nearly 3.3 million immigrants to the country from 1990 onwards. In 2019, Israel witnessed an 18.1% increase in its immigration population, which rested at almost 27,000 in 2018. The numbers have only been predicted to increase in the coming years.

To help assimilation within the Israeli community, Ulpan Or, an Israel-based Hebrew language center, has been providing immersion programs for immigrants settling into daily life in Israel. With the help of their specialized courses, the center aims to help foreigners be better acquainted with Israeli norms and culture and Hebrew, the local language.

Ulpan Or is currently the exclusive provider of Hebrew Programs for the American Embassy in Israel. Through their specialized iHebrew™️ courses, the language center helps students learn to speak, read and write in Hebrew. All classes are led by licensed Israeli teachers. The classes cover traditional lessons and outdoor learning activities to encourage students to interact with locals. Outdoor activities include visiting Tel Aviv or Jerusalem and practicing lessons taught in class.
