Grenfell Tower Remains A Horrific Reminder Of When Fire Protocols Fail

Learning From The Mistakes Of The Past “Our fire door inspection course would provide the successful student with comprehensive knowledge on all the requirements for proper installation.

The dramatic events at Grenfell Tower took place roughly four years ago and still, it remains impossible to consider fire protection services without giving some thought to the dreaded event claiming the lives of 70 people. Yet, when the fear of a repeat event awakens the nation to consider the passive fire protection systems in place in the premises they occupy more seriously, the death of these victims can save lives and gain some meaning.

“Grenfell Tower was an eye-opener to the entire nation regarding the importance of fire protection systems. The devastation that can take place when these systems fail or are not in place can be immense. Yet, while it was been several years since the event took place, the reality is that about 80% of fire door installations across the country are still not according to regulation. This means an increased need for proper fire door inspection,” says Jonny Millard. Millard is the general manager at UK Fire Door Training. As a team committed to saving lives by improving the overall state of passive fire controls across the country, they have now added a fire door inspection course to their existing portfolio.

“Our fire door inspection course would provide the successful student with comprehensive knowledge on all the requirements for proper installation. It highlights the importance of the materials used during the production of these doors. The course also helps these learners to grasp an understanding of the different safety levels of fire doors and it provides an in-depth understanding regarding the legislation, standards, and regulations of these inspections,” Millard expands on the content of the fire door inspection course their team presents.

Upon completion, their successful students will receive the proper certification that carries the FireQual endorsement. The certificate proves their competency to act as a fire door inspector. The certificate remains valid for three years from the date of passing this assessment. Then students would have to repeat the course to ensure that their skills remain updated and refreshed.

About Us:

While our team members all represent different industries including carpenters, teachers, and fire door experts, we all have one common goal and that is to ensure that fire door installation across the nation takes place according to specifications and legal requirements. We understand the important role these doors play to contain fires and smoke and that this advanced piece of engineering can mean the difference between life and death for those who depend on its functionality. It is why our goal is to equip as many students as possible to improve the overall effectiveness of fire doors across the nation.
