Mr. Showkutally Soodhan, leader if the Mauritian Social Democratic Party (PMSD) is angered

by the banners wishing “Eid Mubarak” to the Muslim community put up by the Mouvement

Socialiste Militant (MSM).

He called the act sickening and indecent. He is very disgusted by the party’s leader, Xavier

Duval, who is also currently the acting Prime Minister. He stated the parties couldn’t bend down

so low for their publicity. “This is unheard of. Why have you ever seen PMSD place banners

wishing the pilgrims a ‘Happy Maha Shivratri’? I wonder if Xavier Duval wants to become the

king of the Muslims.” Said the blustered leader.

Mr. Soodhan also mentioned that he will take up the issue to the Prime Minister on his return.
