Look Into The Factors For Selecting A Texas Process Server

Are you having trouble finding a reputable process server in Texas. If so, then look at these tips that I have compiled to help you find a credible process server in Texas.

1 - How much local experience does the process server have?

It's important to select a process serving company that has direct experience dealing with the courts. The process server should know which courts accept e-filing and how many attempts are needed for sub service (rule 106). If they are well established, then they will have their own baskets at the court.

2 - What is their successful serve rate on papers? What is the average amount of time to serve a paper?

The successful serve rate is a simple metric to calculate for a Texas Process Server. You take the total number of papers for the month and divide it by the total number of served papers for the month. A successful process serving company in Texas should maintain a successful served percentage above 85%. If the serve rate is lower than 85%, I would look elsewhere.

Ideally, you will want to work with a State of Texas Certified process server that serves 50%+ of its papers in the first 10 days. If you have experienced delays in service, no attempts on the address within the last 5 days then I would be looking for a new company that can provide better service. How long it takes a process serving company to serve a paper is a good indication of their ability to manage your citations.

3 - What is their technology like? Do they have a client portal?

The way Texas process servers manage citations and communicate with clients has changed. If you are currently working with a process server that runs everything off their cell phone, then you need to be looking for a new company to service your papers. Now granted, they might be good at serving papers, but times have changed. I believe an online "Client Portal" is key to managing citations.

If the service company hasn't been able to full fill its obligation in managing the citation, then the "Client Portal" is the score card that allows the customer to make an informed decision on continuing the relationship or to move on to another process server.
