This research report presents recent month review of shipment volume and sales value of four Chinese home appliances categories: washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, and LCD TV; also included are sales volume share of China’s top-10 home appliance vendors in each category; top-10 home appliance sales volume ranking with breakdowns by types of models offered in each category, by model and ASP. The content of this report is based on secondary data obtained from National Bureau of Statistics of China, State Information Center of China and public information made available by international and Chinese home appliance brands. The report finds that revenues of China home appliances totaled 1.4 trillion RMB (US$22.4 billion; US$1 = 6.26 RMB) from January to December 2014, up 10.1% compared to 2013. The proportion of home appliances sold in China stood at 96.2% in 2014, down 0.1 percentage point compared to 2013. The accumulated export value arrived at around 27.4 billion RMB (US$4.38 billion) in 2014, up 7.4% in comparison to 2013.
