Kanyakumari Temple History:
Kanya Kumari Temple dedicated to the mother goddess known as Shree Bala Bhadra or Arulmigu Bhagavathy Amman. In this temple, mother goddess takes the form of a young girl child (Kumari). The temple has a beautiful picturesque look as it is surrounded by the Sea. It is believed that whoever seeks blessings of Arulmigu Bhagavathy Amman will be relieved from the hurdles of mind and other issues. The temple is exactly situated on the Southern tip of Tamil Nadu. The temple doors will be opened towards the Western side in the normal routine but on certain special days, the temple is opened in the Eastern side. As the goddess is one of the incarnations of goddess Shakti or Mahakali this temple is also regarded one of the popular temples of goddess Shakti. Festivals like Chitra Pournima, Navrathri, Vaisakha and Kalabham festival is celebrated with a great vibration. The temple is fully enriched with rituals and many customs and gets totally flourished with devotees and their Bhakti.
