On Tuesday 26th November 2013, the Tresor Paris team attended The Enchanted Ball hosted by Macmillan Cancer Support.

Guests arrived at the Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair to be greeted by a glass of champagne and were given the opportunity to buy a leaf from the ‘Tree of Life’. Each leaf would correspond to an amazing prize, including a hamper from Harrods, dinner for two at an assortment of restaurants, and tickets to theatre productions.

Doors to the ballroom then opened promptly at 8pm, andthe University Gospel Choir of the Year sang as everyone made their way to their seats. Gold trees adorned with twinkling lights were sporadically placed as centre pieces on tables, with beautiful flower arrangements on other tables. Locations from children’s books were used as table names; including Atlantis, Pixies Hollow and Dragon Island to name a few.
Macmillan’s Chief Executive, CiaránDevane, welcomed guests to the Ball and gave an overview of the work the charity has been doing. Jamie Walters, Chairman of the Enchanted Ball Committee 2013, then gave a speech and wished everyone an enchanted evening.
The amazing live band Totem, performed as dinner was served. Throughout the evening there were performances from the cast of Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Cats, who finished with a spine tingling rendition of One Day More from Les Misérables. Stand-up comedian ShappiKhorsandi also gave a hilarious performance, including an impromptu auction for a plate of dessert which eventually sold for an amazing £100!

One of the highlights of the evening was the Live Auction conducted by Lord Archer, with prizes including Enchanted Treasure Chests from Derren Brown, Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Thompson, as well as holidays to Thailand, Tanzania, the Seychelles and South Africa. A jaw dropping £50,500 was raised in this auction alone! Throughout the evening there was also a silent auction, where guests used tablets on their tables to bid for prizes including a beautiful Tresor Paris crystal apple ornament. Other prizes included a signed guitar from Mick Jagger, VIP tickets for V Festival, a cooking course with Theo Randall and many other incredible lots. When the silent auction finished at 11.30pm, the Tresor Paris crystal apple had reached £600!

After all the excitement of the auction, guests were reminded of why they were there when a young lady whose sister was diagnosed with cancer gave an inspiring speech. She discussed how Macmillan Cancer Support helped her and her family deal with the life changing diagnosis. A Macmillan nurse also spoke about her work and how she supports her patients.
By the end of the evening, over £77,000 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
