Since Pippa Middleton became engaged to her wealthy beau Jason Matthews, she has been in the spotlight a great deal. The two announced their engagement at the end of July after a weekend getaway, and rumors of competition between Pippa and her older royal sister Duchess Kate began soon after. Mainly, the news focused on what role Kate Middleton would play in her sister’s wedding day, seeing as many royal experts insist that it is not appropriate for a royal to be a maid of honor simply because it will steal the attention away from the bride.

However, it was when Pippa stepped in as maid of honor for Kate at the Royal Wedding in 2011 that the beauty was made famous. Until this point, Pippa was a virtual unknown, and following the big day, she began to make headlines as the beautiful and ultra fit younger sister to the beloved Duchess.

Pippa has had no trouble remaining in the media and on magazine covers ever since and her affiliation with royalty has landed her a book deal while additionally making her own love life a hot topic.

Following news of the engagement, another rumor which was heavily circulated involved an apparent opinion of disapproval in regard to Matthews’ family coming by way of the Queen. Kate reportedly was aware of her disapproval and the main reason Matthews is not seen as a good fit is due to his younger brother’s reality TV show antics. Even before the invitations have been sent out and plans made for the big day, Pippa Middleton and James Matthews’ wedding is already being called the social event of 2017. Reports have circulated that Victoria Beckham wants to design Pippa’s dress and that Kate and William may not even be in attendance.

Although Pippa’s only connection to royalty is through her sister. the Queen is still concerned about Spencer Matthews’ troubled past and free way of speaking with the tabloids and media. The former reality star has a rather negative reputation, to say the least.

The publication suggests that Pippa is aware of Queen Elizabeth’s worries that Spencer may speak loosely about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and give the tabloids reason to keep the royal pair on the front page. The younger Middleton has, therefore, retreated a bit from the spotlight and is respecting the fact that Kate and the Queen want to avoid any negative press about the royal family.
