Cook - McGinnis Bridal Tea

A tea party was held for bride-to-be, Miss Chelsea Caitlyn Cook of Atlanta, fiancé of Mr. Walter James McGinnis, also of Atlanta.

 
A tea party was held for bride-to-be, Miss Chelsea Caitlyn Cook of Atlanta, fiancé of Mr. Walter James McGinnis, also of Atlanta.

The festivities took place in The Garden Room of Oak Hill and Martha Berry Museum on June 11, 2016.

Tables were adorned with bouquets of lilies, chrysanthemums, oak leaf and French hydrangea. Red and pink roses were presented in vintage teapots. The flowers and greenery were from the garden of the groom’s aunt Mrs. Teresa Patterson. Arranged by her and assisted by the groom’s aunt Mrs. Amy Patterson.

An assortment of English and herbal teas, fruit infused spring water and prosecco mimosas was served.

The menu included a sweet and savory bread and English pound cake collection, grilled shrimp skewers, salmon mousse on toast points, borek, bacon wrapped roasted dates, chicken salad endive boats, pimiento cheese biscuit pinwheels, and Southern cayenne cheddar cheese straws. The hors douvreswere finished off with a selection of petit fours.

Honored guests were mother of the bride, Ms. Stephanie Gillespie of Atlanta and grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Charlotte Cook, also of Atlanta, mother of the groom, Ms. Terri Patterson of Atlanta and grandmothers of the groom, Mrs. Myra Patterson of Rome and Mrs. Lillian McGinnis of Macon.

Other guests were Mrs. Suzanne Jones, Mrs. Sandy McKibben, Ms. Bridget Goodman, Mrs. Carla Cook, Ms. Patti McGinnis, Mrs. Tina Scherf, Mrs. Layne Gaines, Mrs. Fontaine Tate, Mrs. Patsy Sheehan, Mrs. Tina Holderfield, Mrs. Sharon Barber, and Mrs. Linda Graves.

Hostesses were Ms. Mary Caldwell, Ms. Shannon Patterson Kuni, Miss Nancy Mount, Mrs. Amy Patterson and Mrs. Teresa Patterson, all of Rome.

The bride was showered with many gifts and concluded with the presentation of a hand-made quilt designed and crafted by the grandmother of the groom, Mrs. Myra Patterson and the groom’s aunt Ms. Shannon Patterson Kuni.

Hostess gifts were lovely individual baskets with tea towels, fresh Georgia peaches, artisan sweet breads and a very special framed family portrait.

The wedding is planned for Oct.1, 2016 at the Carter Center with reception to follow on the rooftop, Ponce City Market, Atlanta.
