The Silicon Valley’s topmost technology based companies like Facebook, Google, Snapchat and WhatsApp are now actively working to increase the privacy of user data. The action indicates the companies’ support for Apple over its conclusion on not providing a backdoor to law enforcement departments as Apple conflicts the US government such as FBI over encryption methods, the Guardian has accomplished.
Currently, Facebook-owned WhatsApp declared its plans to increase its secure messaging services so that the voice calls get encrypted. WhatsApp also planning to add encryption codes to group messages as
well to make it more secure. Facebook is also seeing to enhance the security of its Facebook Messenger services.The recent projects could offend authorities just as much as Apple’s more safe iPhones, which are recently at the midpoint of the San Bernardino shooting investigation. They also point out the company may be agreeable to back up their public support for Apple with solid action.
Snapchat, the well-known short-lived messaging service, is also now using it efforts to work on a secure messaging system and Google is investigating extra uses for the latest technology following a long-in-the-works encrypted email projects.
Google had released its End to End project that makes it easy accessible way to send encrypted emails that only the sender and the recipient would be able to decode it. The project, which was going very slow, seems to have shifted gears currently, according to sources well-known with the project said. Some Google employees are also considering whether the End to End technology could be applied to other products or not.
Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Snapchat, Twitter and Amazon have signed a legal brief agreement to support Apple in its court case. Some other companies have also shown their concern in supporting the authorities to fight Islamic extremist publicity online.
