When Tony Tata started his career in the military in 1981, he would never have envisioned that the experiences he gained from a career that lasted for more than 28 years would someday prove useful to him as he explored the possibility of writing works of fiction. However, the release of Sudden Threat in 2009 demonstrated to Tata that not only could his enormous knowledge of military weaponry, tactics and procedures be put to other uses, but that he also had the skill required to make a career of being a novelist.

Tony Tata quickly set to work and became remarkably prolific in a very short period of time. The follow-up to Sudden Threat, Rogue Threat, was released in the same year and showed a writer who was already becoming comfortable in his work and beginning his evolution. Two years later, Hidden Threat not only thrilled audiences but also painted the picture of a writer who was capable of using what he had learned during the early days of his publishing experiences to craft even better novels. His work started drawing comparisons to others in the genre, with many commentators offering commendations for the quality of the writing, fast-paced action and the credibility that the books had due to being so steeped in Tata’s rich vein of military knowledge.

Tata’s output slowed a little after the first three ‘Threat’ books were released, particularly when he became the Superintendent of Schools in Wake County, North Carolina and Secretary of Transportation for North Carolina where he chose to focus on delivering a service to the people he represented. However, he continued to write and the final book in the ‘Threat’ series, Mortal Threat, proved that Tata is a writer to watch.

All of this early promise came to fruition with the release of Foreign and Domestic in 2015. Departing from the ‘Threat’ series, Tony Tata began the story of Jake Mahegan and created a novel that received a superb reception. It became his first bestseller, reaching #6 on the Barnes and Noble Bestsellers List upon its release. Readers are now eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the story of Jake Mahegan, with Three Minutes to Midnight due for release in April 2016.
