We can help you with selecting the right equipment, learning how to use the equipment to doing the installation for you if you choose. We are factory trained on Planewave and Software bisque mounts and very knowledgeable in others we carry. In many cases if a customer runs into a problem, we will remotely log in and fix the issue in minutes instead of waiting for the next day for manufacturer support. We work directly with the manufacturers with deliveries, installation schedules, integration of parts from different suppliers. In case of warranty issues, we work on your behalf to get things right.
You will not get a pushy salesman instead a friend who honestly will tell you what will work or not work. There have been many times we turned customers down because the purchase they had decided on was a bad idea. It's better to keep a friend for life versus making a single sale and have the customer have a bad experience.

STARLIGHT XPRESS Lodestar X2
The Lodestar X2 is an upgraded version of the very popular Lodestar autoguider. The original Lodestar uses the ICX429 Exview chip from Sony and offers excellent sensitivity. However, Sony have now upgraded the ICX429 to the ICX829, with considerably improved QE and read noise. This new 'Exview 2' chip approximately doubles the Lodestar sensitivity and adds nearly a full star magnitude to the minimum guide star brightness.

PlaneWave Instruments is proud to introduce its new L-Series direct drive mount system. Offered in Alt-Az or Equatorial configuration. The L-Series comes in three models; the L-350 capable of holding 100 lbs; the L-500 designed for the CDK17/20 that can hold payload of over 200 lbs. The L-600 is ideal for the CDK24 and can hold up to 300 lbs. All mounts are designed and manufactured by PlaneWave Instruments with zero backlash and zero periodic error, virtually silent motion and slew speeds of up to 50 degrees per second!
The L-Series combines versatility, simplicity and affordability by combining all the technology of our Observatory class telescopes into a compact stand-alone mount. In its Alt/Az configuration it is considerably more compact than its equatorial counterpart, allowing a larger telescope to fit in a smaller enclosure. Unlike German Equatorial mounts, there are no meridian flips to deal with, and no large protruding counterweights to create a dangerous hazard in a public observatory. Alt/Az is more intuitive to use and no polar alignment is needed. Besides, it is the way the pros do it!
