Dubai, UAE – Luxury footwear brand Tigre Rosa is charting a bold new path in fashion with the launch of its Sole & Soil Initiative—a sustainability-first program focused on ethical sourcing, zero-waste design, and community-driven craftsmanship across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Founded by visionary designer Reema Al Khatib, Tigre Rosa is redefining luxury by fusing environmental consciousness with artisanal excellence. The initiative reinforces the brand’s mission to lead with purpose, offering a new narrative that places people and planet at the heart of fashion.
Bridging Heritage and Sustainability
At the core of the Sole & Soil Initiative is a commitment to work with local artisans across Morocco, Jordan, and the UAE, preserving traditional techniques while promoting economic empowerment for women in rural communities. Every Tigre Rosa shoe crafted under this program is made using locally sourced leather, plant-based dyes, and biodegradable packaging—ensuring the brand’s environmental footprint is as elegant as its designs.
“We wanted to move beyond aesthetic and into action,” says Reema Al Khatib. “Luxury isn’t just about exclusivity—it’s about responsibility. By working directly with regional craftspeople, we’re not just preserving heritage; we’re building futures.”
A New Collection Rooted in the Earth
To launch the initiative, Tigre Rosa is introducing the “Gaia Line”—a limited-edition collection of earth-toned, sculptural heels inspired by desert landscapes and ancient architecture. Every pair features hand-stitched details, natural materials, and a QR code linking buyers to the story of the artisans behind the design.
This radical transparency is a first for the brand and part of its larger effort to connect consumers with the origins and impact of what they wear.
Fashion That Gives Back
As part of the initiative, a percentage of proceeds from the Gaia Line will be invested into vocational training programs for young women in design and shoemaking, starting in Tunisia and expanding across the region by 2026. The brand has also committed to becoming fully carbon-neutral by 2027, with plans underway to implement a closed-loop recycling program for worn footwear.
Looking Forward
Tigre Rosa’s move toward sustainable luxury is a direct response to shifting consumer values and the urgent need for climate-conscious design. With this new direction, the brand is poised to become not only a symbol of elegance but also a catalyst for change in the global fashion industry.
“Fashion can be beautiful and accountable,” says Reema. “And when it is, it becomes truly timeless.”
