This innocuous book came to my attention in 2005 and it has passed through my hands many times due to the fact. I had no inclination to peruse its contents for I had ceased to believe in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was applying all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a man as un-Godly as any person could possibly be.

In 2007, whilst packing some books as donations for a book fair, my hand once once again fell on "A Course in Miracles". By this time, I had secured a divorce from my husband but was nevertheless coping with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became pretty thoughtful and calm. What was it about this book that invoked feelings I hadn't seasoned within a extremely extended time? My hand clung to the book refusing to place it down. Realizing that this was a sign that I had much better take a closer look, I created a cup of tea and sat in my favourite reading chair. With wonderful curiosity, I focused on the blue hardcover and study "A Course in Miracles, a foundation for inner peace." Wow. That was a pretty bold statement but okay, I decided to bite. Taking a deep breath, I pondered essentially the most clear question: What's the foundation for inner peace? This book quickly opened an old wound and it had superior possess the answer to healing.

"A Course in Miracles" is really that, a course. Written in three parts, this book isn't to become taken lightly and can't be read inside a week or perhaps a month. There is certainly text, a workbook for students and a manual for teachers. I had the sudden urge to fling the book across the room simply because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that as soon as I began reading this book, I was going to have to transform and was I ready for the journey ahead?

My favored film is "The Matrix". The primary character Neo is searching for the answer for the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he does not know what it truly is. The man with all the answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and gives the chance for truth by providing Neo a decision involving taking a blue pill or maybe a red pill. Take the blue pill and stay ignorant or take the red pill and uncover the answer for the matrix. Before he reaches for his pill of option, Morpheus cautions Neo that should he select the red pill, he can under no circumstances go back towards the life he had been living.

"A Course in Miracles" may be the red pill. Do I study it and transform anything I know in regards to the world and myself or do I take the blue pill and make "A Course in Miracles" book fair fodder?

As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly study, "Nothing I see within this room indicates anything". Oh dear. Is it also late to take the blue pill?
