After four decades of scientific success Thomas Heric has decided to retire from the medical field.

Thomas Heric was a curious child, being interested in the inner workings of certain things, including the human body. He spent his early teenage years marveling at the wonders of the local County Museum of Natural History, developing a fascination towards dinosaurs that later inspired him to go and dig one up himself. He had an insatiable scientific curiosity that gave him the motivation to pursue a career in the field, whatever that would be. An amateur radio hobbyist, he built his own television transmitter at the young age of 15, so he could broadcast a video of himself to other TV enthusiasts all over the San Fernando Valley.

To fund his interests, he became a television repairman, one of the youngest in the country. At the age of 16 he attended UC Berkeley where Thomas Heric spent the next five years before joining the army. After a three-year military stint that included him being promoted to Sergeant, he went to the University of California, where he obtained his MD and PhD, simultaneously. After he completed his medical studies, he spent his residency at two medical institutions on two different continents.

With his work at Saint John’s Hospital and the famous London based medical institution called Queen Square Neurologic Hospital, he set up a very long and successful medical career. While starting his own practice at Saint John’s, he remained very interested in doing research, conducting studies and being in his laboratory. He obtained several neurodiagnostic qualifications throughout the years, including four years of training at the Brain Research Institute at UCLA, his Alma Mater.

Throughout his impressive career, he earned many opportunities to test his abilities in upper-management roles. After being the Chief of Neurology for 15 years, he was promoted to Senior Vice President at Saint John’s. After being in that role for three years, he became the Executive Vice President. This tenure lasted between 1994 and 1996. His last medical role saw him becoming the Medical Director of Tower Health Plan, between 1996 and 1997.

After four decades of medical excellence, he retires from the field to spend his golden years with the same scientific curiosity as he started his career with.
