Since its launch on August 16, 2007, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation has grown to having thirteen offices in three counties, Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino. Founded by Dr. Richy Agajanian, the Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation is dedicated to excelling in cancer awareness, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and education through an exceptional team of nurse practitioners, chemotherapy nurses, medical assistants, office personnel, and physicians who are board certified in medical oncology, hematology, hospice and palliative medicine, and internal medicine.
The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation is proud to have access to the latest research, technology and treatment options, including clinical trials for eligible patients. They are committed to providing comprehensive medical services to their patients. In their pursuit to be at the forefront of the latest medical cancer research, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation participates in numerous clinical trials focused on various types of malignancies.
This November, The Oncology Institute hit a milestone of opening 160 clinical trials and enrolling 1,000 patients over the past 8 years. Clinical trials play an active part in patient health care. Patients gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, obtain expert medical care at one of their leading health care facilities during the trial, and help others by contributing to medical research. The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation has proudly played a role in the FDA approval of several cancer treatment drugs and in addition, is awaiting on others to be approved by the FDA.
In 2014 and 2015, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation was named the top enroller in the nation in four trials. They also have publications at the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposiums annual meetings.
As the largest private practice cancer center in California, The Oncology Institute continues to provide extensive services including state-of-the-art infusion centers, chemotherapy educational sessions, in-house support groups, dietary and nutritional counseling, in-house pharmacy, financial counseling, clinical trials, comprehensive lab testing, and end of life counseling. They also offer supportive programs to help patients and families cope with the challenges brought on by cancer.
In addition to the growing number of cancer treatment centers, in 2014, The Oncology Institute introduced The Hope, Health, and Healing Center to offer patients alternative and holistic treatments in addition to chemotherapy. The wellness center is committed to providing superior services in a quiet and serene facility. The services offered nurture the body through exercises, stress relief, and relaxing activities as well as nurture the mind through social group sessions, wellness groups, and self-image improvement programs. The goal is to empower patients to take control of their health and improve their quality of life through their treatment process with better symptom management.
The Oncology Institute is honored and humbled to have reached this milestone. “We are very proud of this achievement. Our quest has always been to become leaders in oncology research. We aim to provide innovative treatment options to assist patients through their difficult journey. We hope to successfully treat many more patients for years to come” says Dr. Agajanian.
