Forsyth Park

Forsyth Park is the largest and first recreational park in Savannah. It is a 30 acre, free Public Park that is open to the locals and visitors. Purpose of visiting the park for a picnic, quiet and scenic stroll, to play basketball, tennis and bounce off the steam. Take photos of the land marking fountain located at the northern end of the park before cooling off at the fountain. The amphitheater hosts festivals and concerts like the Jazz festival all year round.

Tybee Island’s beach

Unlike the Forsyth Park, this beach is not entirely free. You pay a parking fee of $1.50 per hour and $3.0 minimum if using a debit or credit card. These charges apply from 8 am to 8 pm. So, if you stroll the beach early morning to view the sunrise or late at night for a dinner picnic, you will not pay the parking fees. The pristine beach is located 30 minutes from Savannah town and offers an ideal beach experience. It hosts water sports like kiteboarding, parasailing, skiing, stand up paddle boarding and sea kayaking. The beach also hosts a number of celebrations such as; annual pirate festival and July fireworks all year round.

Historic Squares

Escape the busy city setting by visiting one of the 22 historic squares. Marvel at the vast oak trees with massive canopies that keep off the hot summer sun. They offer the perfect environment to relax, meditate or read a book. Moreover, most of the historic squares are surrounded by exquisite ancient churches and colorful homes.

River Street
