Strengthening bilateral ties between both the countries, Indian Government through State Bank of India is establishing an Indian visa centre in Bangladesh. With a focus on increasing tourism and development of both the countries, the Indian Embassy in Bangladesh will open an alternate Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) at Dhanmondi, Dhaka on January 1.
As per news sources, the leading bank of India, State Bank of India (SBI) on behalf of the Indian commission will undertake the processing and approval of visa applications. All the categories for applying visas will also be covered by SBI. In addition to providing guidance the bank will also provide service for the delivery of approved visas.
IVAC facilities are now also available in following places of Dhaka; Dhanmondi , Gulshan, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi and Motijheel.
Also, to provide on-time service for medical emergencies, a special counter for Medical Emergency Visas has also been devised at IVAC, Gulshan. Here, medical emergency visa applications can be applied on a walk-in basis without any prior appointment date.
From January 1, 2015, applicants will have to scan and upload their photographs in the given space on the online application forms for visa application.
