NSW
Recently, the floods that occurred in NSW have led to massive destruction. People living at different properties are losing their homes to the flood. The areas also cover the Greyhound Racing grounds that are harmed due to the heavy water flow. Thus, for lending out a helping hand, GRNSW or Greyhound Racing NSW has created a “Relief Fund” program. The relief fund provides the participants with a token of compensation.
The amount of funding and other related details
For the devastating condition, the community of GRNSW has announced to give an amount of $100,000. This will be given in the form of cheques or cash by the organisers to the victims. As the participants have been associated with Greyhound racing for a prolonged period, additional financial assistance is given to those living in areas like Northern Rivers, Lismore, and surrounding locations. The serious floodwater also impacted the properties of Hawkesbury, Upper Nepean, Nepean and Colo Rivers. The CEO of GRNSW has stated that “The state has witnessed another deadly flood in their calendar. Communities and staff who have been closely associated with the racing programs are greatly affected. All the more, the racing industry is now a pause.” Furthermore, this flood has been traumatic for the entire community, and thus the relief camp is trying its level best to help the owners and their greyhounds.
Greyhound Racing in NSW has joined hands with potential investors to create funds for the “Flood Relief Fund” to support the victims as much as possible. However, like any other support funds, the most affected ones are given priority. Additionally, the flood relief camp will increase the donation money for a specific community of people. Their sole idea is to support the regular livelihood of the participants.
Information about the tracks
As the greyhound racing grounds are significantly destroyed, the organisers will conduct a full assessment. First, this process will be incorporated to highlight the damaged parts of the racing tracks. Following that, the organisers and communities will repair them with immediate effect.
