Brandenburg, Germany – Terratest 5000 BLU, the world’s first light weight deflectometer with Blutooth connectivity and voice navigation technology by Terratest GmbH is now being used on the biggest road construction site in Italy.

The Superstrada Pedemontana Veneta, one of the biggest road construction project in Europe which is currently getting optimised with Terratest 5000 BLU is getting developed in the context of European Corridor No. 5, where the national highway network shows more problems because of the high saturation of existing arteries. Allowing the closure of an ideal ring that encloses the entire central area of Veneto, linking the area to the Vicenza Treviso.

The Superstrada is the Italy’s only fast road highway that charges tolls. It will have four lanes for 95 km with two lanes plus an emergency lane in each direction. Out of the 90 km which run along the foot of the Alps 50 km will be in trenches, 26.5 km elevated and 8 km in tunnels. The project aims to rearrange and reorganize the entire road system of the area in question to improve overall levels of quality and safety in accordance with the needs of mobility and development locally.

Considering the massive earth movements for the project, the benefits of using the TERRATEST 5000 BLU are clearly obvious. Measurements are transmitted via Bluetooth from load plate to measuring computer, Smartphone or tablet. This instrument can also guide the operator with audio instruction during the test.
