New York, NY – After a rigorous evaluation and elimination process, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) selected the Temeka Group to design and build-out some of the State’s first cannabis retail stores. This comes as the State’s first dispensary licenses are awarded to social equity applicants most harmed by the War on Drugs. These license holders will inherit a turnkey store – many of which will be completed by the market leading retail design-build firm, Temeka Group.

Temeka Group is a Corona, California based firm boasting thirty-one years of global retail store experience, including 100+ stores in NFL, NHL and MLB stadiums. They have also completed more than 5,000 retail stores located in malls, and lifestyle centers across the U.S., ranging from clothing to jewelry for national brands. In the last five years, the Temeka Group brought its expertise from retail to the quickly expanding cannabis space. Since then, the company has worked on more than 350 dispensaries with 50+ unique cannabis brands, from multi-state operators to start-ups, transforming those brands’ vision into reality. The firm is ready to leverage their vast experience to expeditiously design and build-out world-class dispensaries in New York for the newly awarded Conditional Adult Use Dispensary (CAURD) licensees.

The CAURD licensees are part of a transformational and unprecedented program to assist those most affected by the War on Drugs in being first to market and reduce barriers to entry, such as access to turnkey store fronts in prime locations as well as loans at market rate. The first 37 of such licenses were awarded on November 21st, 2022 in regions located across New York.
