Center’s specialists present innovative developments in transcranial studies at the 36th International Conference on Computed Assisted Radiology and Surgery CARS2022. The experts spoke about the process of creating an anthropomorphic head phantom for transcranial research.
“Two versions of the phantom are designed to teach and practice the skills of conducting ultrasound examinations through the temporal acoustic Transmission Window. The skull model was reconstructed according to CT data and printed on a 3D printer. The acoustic transparency window was printed using LCD photolithography,” said Denis Leonov, researcher at the Center’s Medical Research Department.
The Center team also discussed the new RF data set. The database has the potential to become a valuable tool for researchers working in the area of Doppler signal processing.
“This database will be useful to researchers studying signal processing algorithms in B-mode and CFM. The data set can serve as a reference standard for comparing the performance of different CFM algorithms and also be of great practical value as it paves the way for new diagnostic tools,” explained Denis Leonov.
