A latest type of malware infection is discovered by the team of researcher that locks your computer screen and disconnects it with the keyboard and mouse.

 
A latest type of malware infection is discovered by the team of researcher that locks your computer screen and disconnects it with the keyboard and mouse. In the weeks of Dec to Jan 2015, many official websites like Huffington Post displayed advertisements which are completely packed with the malicious codes, once your PC gets infected with this malware code then it locked down the system and disconnect the other connected hardwires like keyboard and mouse.

This cyberattack and ransom campaign was discovered by researchers at cybersecurity firmCyphort. After this infection your PC display a message which looks very genuine but it is not true and it is a fake message. The designers of this malware demanding money to unlock computer, still it is not confirmed that how many PCs are infected with such type of infection.

This malware attacks only that Windows PC those have an outdated browsers such as Internet Explorer 8. And this infection is unable to infect the updated browsers such as Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome and Mozilla's latest version of Firefox.

The malware ran on ads served by AOL's network between Dec 31 until Jan 5, researchers said. It is also possible that this infected ads stretched as far back as October.

User with an outdated browser, just visiting a website can make their PC infected without clicking on them. The affected ads displayed on many websites like The Huffington Post, men's magazine FHM, alternative newspapers LA Weekly and Houston Press, video game site GameZone, and many others.

According to the FHM's publisher, Bauer Media UK, it's now asking its advertising partner, The Rubicon Project (RUBI), to investigate the matter.
According to the AOL spokesman Gerasimos Manolatos "quickly took the necessary steps to rectify" and said "AOL is committed to bringing new levels of transparency to the advertising process, ensuring ads uphold quality standards and create positive consumer experiences."

The malicious infection is called Kovter, once your computer gets infected with this nasty malware then it cuts off access to the keyboard and mouse. The computer screen is blocked with a message that claims you violate the copyright acts or it also claims you've viewed child pornography and demands a $300 "fine" -- doubtfully payable only via hard-to-trace, pre-paid Mastercard and Visa cards from MoneyPak.

It is such a very dangerous type of malware infection, so that it is necessary to get rid Kovter infection as soon as possible.
