22 March 2016 Dubai The highly popular annual college cultural fest “Jashn" started off with a bang and attracted youth from all over UAE, known for its ground-breaking ideas creative and engaging events. organized at BITS Pilani Dubai campus on march 22nd this year, A campus which has been acknowledged for some of the prevalent college level initiatives, including social cause, yard sale, book fair, and the trendy ritual of flash mobs and the rational high society it receives as part of its Gathering. What’s thought-provoking this year? Yallajashn organized by Yallaspree.com had a heap of cool events furrowed up, from “Aftershocks of Counter culture” where it brings you a renovation as the spotlight is thrown on the people who have staunchly stood out in among the crowds as the only decries in their respective fields, to the newly initiated, event “Look of the day” where everyone clicks a selfie and uploads it and tags all the brands that they are wearing. This campaign was a big hit amongst the crowd and was running for more than a month. There were a record-breaking 250 submissions who participated in the event and eventually 5 winners were chosen and were rewarded with a cash prize of 5 thousand dirhams.

There were other entertaining events like the Bollywood Antakshari, Duet Event and other stalls set up in the university. Something else to look out for is the Cartoon Event where fantasy meets reality & reality meets fiction. The event was graced by a renowned celebrity who is well known in the world of music Mr. Arjun Kanungo. The audience were awestruck by his marvelous performance. Yallajashn is truly a spectacle to feast your eyes on.It has upheld itself as a boulevard for the students to contend as well as to let loose and have a good time. This year, this fest travels a whole new culture which remains untapped while reviving the traditions. Discovering concepts of grime, love house, punk, and neo-hip-hop, "Yallajashn" is all set to break even with others with its urban, dissident theme.
