Encanto is a computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film directed by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, set to be released in 2021. [5][6] It was directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, co-directed by writer Charise Castro Smith, and produced by Yvett Merino and Clark Spencer, with original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It was the studio's 60th film. Stephanie Beatriz, Maria Cecilia Botero, John Leguizamo, Mauro Castillo, Jessica Darrow, Angie Cepeda, Carolina Gaitán, Diane Guerrero, and Wilmer Valderrama lend their voices to the picture.
On November 3, 2021, the film premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, and on November 24, it was released theatrically in the United States. It earned favorable reviews from reviewers and has a worldwide box office gross of $77.7 million.

Alma Madrigal loses her husband Pedro while fleeing armed violence in her home, but she saves her three infant children when her magical candle produces a sentient house for the Madrigals to reside in, the "Casita." The protecting Casita helps a hamlet thrive, and the Madrigal family gains superhuman skills that they employ to aid the inhabitants. However, Alma's son Bruno is shunned because of a misunderstanding about his precognition skill, and Julieta's youngest daughter Mirabel has no unique abilities.

Mirabel notices the Casita cracking the night after Pepa's son Antonio gets the power to communicate with animals, but her warnings go unheeded. Mirabel, determined to save the Casita's enchantment, investigates and interrogates her family members, with the help of her older sister Luisa, who possesses superhuman strength and suggests to Mirabel that Bruno's chamber may hold some clues to the phenomenon.
Mirabel discovers a sand cave and a vision purporting to reveal her as the reason of the Casita's demise. After Mirabel leaves, she notices that her family's gifts are fading, and she learns of Isabela, a woman who can make flowers grow anywhere, and her impending engagement to Mariano.

During dinner, Mirabel's older cousin Dolores, who has superhuman hearing, admits to overhearing Mirabel talking with her father about Bruno's vision. When the Casita cracks again and everyone's powers fade, Isabela accuses Mirabel of being responsible, despite Mirabel's denial. Mirabel finds a hidden passage in the walls where she meets Bruno, who has never left the house because he still loves his family. Mirabel persuades him to make predictions once more, and she obtains Antonio's permission to use his room. Bruno has another vision in which he sees a picture of Mirabel and Isabella hugging.

Mirabel rushes to apologize, but instead learns of Isabela's wish to avoid marrying Mariano and her weight of perfection. Isabela's skills begin to expand after she expresses her emotions, and the two sisters reunite. However, Abuela learns of Mirabel's acts, and the ensuing dispute between the two destroys the Casita, much to the family's dismay. Abuela finds a weeping Mirabel near the river where Pedro died, finally recognizing her mistake of putting pressure on the family and forgetting that they were a family in the first place. Mirabel and Abuela reconcile (fulfilling the second vision) and, with Bruno in tow, reassemble the Madrigals to repair the Casita, with the entire community pitching in to help; once Mirabel inserts the final doorknob, the Casita springs back to life and the enchantment returns.
