New Delhi: State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged contract from NTPC for its upcoming 2×800 MW Daripali Supercritical thermal power

 
New Delhi: State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged contract from NTPC for its upcoming 2×800 MW Daripali Supercritical thermal power project (STPP) in Sundargarh district of Odisha. The contract worth Rs220 crore is for the supply and installation of the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) package for Daripali STPP.

As per the contract, BHEL will undertake design, engineering, manufacturing, supply & erection and commissioning of ESPs. These ESPs will be produced at company’s Ranipet plant whereas BHEL’s Jhansi plant will supply High Voltage Rectifier Transformers. BHEL’s power sector – Southern region will carry out erection and commissioning of the ESPs.

BHEL is already implementing order for the Steam Generator (SG) package with supercritical parameters for this power project.
This contract is won against stiff competition from international and domestic bidders. With this order, BHEL has secured 13 of the 18 ESPs ordered for 660/800 MW supercritical units of NTPC, under the Cabinet approved Bulk tender power projects.
