In 1995, when his telecom company Hitech Cellular was a business partner with Sunil Bharti Mittal Airtel, he told Mr. Mittal at an august gathering at Hotel Intercontinental now
Hotel Lalit that his company would do 200000 subscribers and Mr. Mittal's Airel 1 million within four years. The whole gathering appreciated but was apprehensive of his claim since the Government of
India had given the license for approximately 50000 subscribers in 10 years. Rest is history, Airtel is app 1.3 billion subscribers worldwide, and Our Founder, Hitech cellular, was a pioneer hailed as an unsung hero and later also collaborated with BPL Cellular Ltd in Maharashtra,
bringing incoming calls free in 1997/98 and outgoing at Rs.1 per minute whereas in contrast, the official tariff was Rs.16.84 per minute, and BPL Cellular Ltd and Airtel were the superstars of the telecom revolution.

In 2001 BPL Bought Birla at&t and tata's collaboration idea.
