This Press Release is written to inform the readers that Subrata Chakravarty conducted research in the field of simulation.

With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, Subrata Chakravarty is involved in work with acute care in surgical programs and labor analgesia. He is currently serving as the intraoperative physician who looks after the patient undergoing surgery right from the initiation of anesthesia.

Currently, Subrata serves as an intraoperative physician where he makes sure that he speaks with each patient scheduled for surgery, answers their questions and alleviates their fears. He believes that it brings confidence in them as these patients are very vulnerable before surgery.

In 2010, Subrata Chakravarty got the “Research in Education Award” at the prestigious SOAP (Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology) Annual meeting. He also conducted research in the field of simulation and his study “Effectiveness of using high-fidelity simulation to teach the management of general anesthesia for Cesarean delivery”.

Subrata is always aimed at alleviating the chronic pain of patients. He advises his patients to start with gentle exercises in order to build stamina and pain tolerance. He believes that relaxation techniques can work to calm your mind and relax your body. These techniques can include diaphragmatic breathing, guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness.

Inclined towards doing the active clinic work, Subrata possesses higher education and specialization in anesthesiology. With anesthesia, he believed that he would get those challenging cases to take care of.
Pertaining to his profession, Subrata joined as Staff Anesthesiologist with Alberta Health Services and has been working with them since then. He continued to preach and teach and was appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta.
