Rotary Youth Exchange is realizing the foreign living and study dreams of many high school students by way of its sponsored summer exchanges and high school study abroad programs.

Rotary Youth Exchange is a renowned sponsor of student exchange programs via Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. The sponsor organizes various short-term exchanges that last from several days to three months. These foreign exchanges are often structured as camps, tours, or homestays that take place when the school is not in session. For high school students, Rotary Youth Exchange also has many long-term exchanges that last a full academic year. Students attend local schools and live with multiple host families while pursuing these programs.

In the latest media event, the spokesperson of Rotary Youth Exchange asserted, “Our sponsored foreign exchanges are available for youngsters aged 15 to 19 years. Through our programs, students may develop lifelong leadership skills, as well as learn a new language and culture. They also get a chance to build lasting friendships with young people from around the world and become a global citizen. Most candidates chosen for these programs are leaders in their schools and communities. Students apply for and avail these exchange opportunities via their Rotary clubs.”

Rotary Youth Exchange offers summer foreign exchange student programs that vary in length from several days to several weeks. Although students generally would not attend school in a host country under these programs, they may be able to tailor the exchange to match their interests or to include the tours of specific places or regions. Some common types of short-term youth exchanges are family-to-family programs and international youth camps. The focus of these summer exchanges is on the adventure and experiencing a foreign culture.

The spokesperson further informed, “While there are non-academic sponsored programs, we also sponsor the high school study abroad program. This long-term travel program is our flagship study abroad program for young people ages 14 to 19 years. The experience begins the year before going to study abroad, as students go through the application, selection and preparation processes. During their academic year abroad, they live with three or four carefully selected and trained host families, study at a local high school, and become proficient in a new language.”

The program to study abroad for high school students is an immersion program that also helps students in becoming bicultural and bilingual. This program forever changes their perspective of the world they live in. Students may also get the study abroad scholarship from Rotary Youth Exchange, as a part of which, they get primary tuition and placement in a school approved by the foreign Rotary Club. Students also receive a monthly stipend and 24-hour worldwide emergency assistance throughout the program, along with many other benefits.
