Looking to install some security cameras outside I have been looking into either a weatherproof bullet camera or a dome camera. Our business has several of the dome cameras installed and seem to be working okay. We need something weatherproof outside. We have heard that the dome cameras are weatherproof as well but field of vision may be limited. Reviews online have yielded some great information for pros and cons with these two types of cameras. Talking with security professionals is getting us closer to our decision or at least we think.
If you are like us and trying to decide what type of camera to install outside this information may be helpful. The weatherproof bullet camera is a sleek narrow camera in length. Most of the ones that we have been looking at have a full three hundred and sixty degree field of vision. This depends on how they are mounted. There are wireless versions of the weatherproof bullet camera and wired ones. They have low light options for night vision capability. This style camera is normally mounted outside of prisons and banks. They are fairly noticeable though and concealment of them can be hard to do.
The dome style camera is a little better for concealment. These are normally mounted inside stores and businesses. They have a tendency to be able to blend in with there environment. The low light option for this style is similar but resolution changes for indoor uses. It is still night vision though just at a different resolution option. These are available in wired or wireless versions as well. Most of these models however are not waterproof. Being used indoors they do not generally have to deal with different changes in the weather. That could be a downside for mounting this style outside.
As you can see the weatherproof bullet camera and the dome style camera are very similar to each other. Small details and options can have a person lean one way or another. They both are mounted to serve the same purpose and that is to record criminal activity. It is a great investment for any business to have a security system with a weatherproof bullet camera or a dome style camera. They do not cost a lot for the security that they provide. The evidence from the data recorded is very useful in court. The system that you use can record the same data for this use.
We have decided to go with the weatherproof bullet camera. The security professionals had it tied into our existing system within a few hours. The concealment outside was not a factor. The system is supposed to be vandal proof. We have the low light option for night vision. We have it mounted where it is not restricting our field of vision. We will have twenty four hour recoding outside. With the new system and DVR we can record and delete what ever information that we decide to not keep. Whatever you decide to go with system, just remember it is worth the investment.
