What would we do without teachers? When we are young, a good teacher, one who wants us to know and understand our world, holds open a magic door. We are invited through to experience the past and imagine the future. In our early schooling we receive the precious gift of an alphabet and words, and we learn how stories work to carry ideas with adventure. We find out that we can experience many things through a good story. Some of us will go on to write stories for others. It is an important role in the world to carry our cultures forward. This is expanded through all the arts, which carry the soul of our humanity. A beautiful image is seen by anyone from anywhere in the world with appreciation.
This helps us each achieve a level of competence as a person in the world. We can see and share these bits of souls, our very selves. Some of us will choose to do this as a profession, so we must practice. But first, we must be able to observe. "See what you see, not what someone tells you that you see." said L. Ron Hubbard in his book, The Way to Happiness. This is the first step to competence. www.thewaytohappiness.org
