The body's immune system defenses decrease when you don't sleep well. Sleep time should be sacred for every human being because it is that exact period when the body regenerates, detoxes and recharges it's batteries for the next day. If the stress level in an organism is too high, the body cannot relax enough to do all these functions, so it wears out. You wake up tired, without energy, and in a bad mood, even feeling depressed and it is all due to lack of sleep.  Without sleep the cells cannot get, among other things, enough oxygen. One of the worst evils of our modern age is the lack of sleep. It is degenerative and can lead to many of the  ills and diseases of this time. You have to sleep well for enough hours to be in good health and fight any virus. There are many reasons for not being able to sleep. You can see a nutritionist to start with  and see if there is a lack of minerals or vitamins such as magnesium or potassium. Breathing well and deeply can, little by little help the the body to start sleeping. “Get rest. Although many times in life one has to work beyond normal sleep periods, a person’s general failure to get proper rest can make him or her a burden to others. Tired people are not alert. They can make mistakes. They have accidents. Just when you need them they can dump the whole workload on one. They put others at risk. Insist that people who do not get proper rest do so." L.
