The Bahamians Struggle Back from Dorian to Face More Challenge In the Time of Coronavirus from storm Arthur

The Bahamas, after the pummeling by Hurricane Dorian, saw Storm Arthur coming evan as they were locked down for Coronavirus.

When storm Arthur was named, he was heading for the Bahamas. This was not the most reassuring prospect, since the devastation from last year's hurricane, Dorian, is still being addressed. The rebuilding after the damage done by a category 5 storm is intense, especially when it sat grinding away for more than 48 hours. To fully recover will most likely take years.

Then, like the rest of the world, it was hit with Covid-19.

The Bahamian national disaster response and recovery network is tireless but small, and while international help has been generous, they are not a long term solution as most of them must go back to their own countries. Many did stay in the Bahamas for 5 months or more, and some still have people there.

Like most of the world the Bahamas are in a state of lockdown. Their borders are closed. This is to prevent quiet and insidious devastation from the novel Coronavirus, Covid-19. So far, this nation of islands has done a good job of keeping this microscopic enemy at bay. To do this it was necessary to close its borders. Many forge in workers have been unable to come and help with rebuilding, to see just how much could be gotten done before the next hurricane season, which is now upon us.

The Bahamians work hard to see guard their citizen's and their environment, and this matters to us all. "If others not help safeguard and improve the environment, the way to happiness could have no roadbed to travel at all." L. Ron Hubbard. Probably in many ways it will always be "better in the Bahamas' and so the happiness of the many may truly depend on the persistence and creativity of the Bahamians.
