Tenting for Termites even During Coronavirus

Being essential, he was never locked down. We do need to acknowledge these individuals, and when we can, pay them a little more. Consider it hazard pay.

The house next door is being tented for termites. Some of the companies that do this use canvas covered in colorful plasticized or rubberized in bright colors, stripes, or even polkadots.
This one, however, is black and ugly. It will be up for three days. Seeing it, perhaps the termites in the rest of the neighborhood will take note, and move elsewhere.

I have three cats who love to be out. They are now huddled inside, although the smallest and fiercest is starting to demand egress. She owns some territory that she wants to surveil. It is getting ready to thunderstorm,so I am letting her out, since she will be right back. She is smart enough to stay away from the ominously tented house. All of this is simply to point out that even in a pandemic, life goes on. We protect our houses from termites, or we have our roofs repaired. We do what needs tone done, which means there are workers out there doing the work. One of my friends who fixes roofs or handles plumbing leaks has tested positive for this Corona virus, and he feels it. He is fifty-five, young and strong, but at risk by reason of exposure to the community at large. Being essential, he was never locked down. We do need to acknowledge these individuals, and when we can, pay them a little more. Consider it hazard pay.
